Palette Shift

GIF images are 256 colors only. The set of colors is called a palette.

If you try to paste another picture into a GIF picture, you will often get a palette shift. Palette shift looks like this (on the left):

If this happens, change the GIF to millions of colors, paste in the new picture, then change the whole thing back to 256.
