Absolute vs. Relative Paths

An absolute path provides the complete URL of a web page or image on the internet.

A relative path specifies the file or location relative to the page it's in.

Example of an absolute path:

http://mrfoster.info/mm1/batboy/batboypic.jpg

Examples of relative paths (if your page is already in the mm1 folder):

batboy/batboypic.jpg

../katie/katiepic.jpg
